The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was a part of the cast along with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the film Badmash Company. This movie was met with mixed critiques. Anushka appeared as an Punjabi girl from the middle class in the movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat. The film featured her alongside Ranveer. This movie was well received and was a huge success. Anushka had signed her three-film contract in partnership with Yash Raj Films.
